Containment, source correction & detailed cleaning

Mold remediation

Mold remediation is not simply about treating what is visible. A sound process addresses the moisture source, limits the spread of dust and debris, removes affected porous materials when needed, and cleans the work area carefully.

The key principleCorrect the moisture source first

Our process

What happens from the first call through the final step.

01

Moisture investigation

We discuss the history of the area and look for the leak, humidity, condensation, or other condition supporting growth.

02

Define the work area

Visible conditions, affected materials, and access needs are evaluated to establish the remediation scope.

03

Containment & air control

The work area is isolated as appropriate, and negative air or air filtration is used to help control airborne particles.

04

Material removal

Affected porous materials that cannot be effectively cleaned are removed using controlled work practices.

05

HEPA cleaning

Remaining surfaces are detailed with HEPA vacuuming and damp cleaning appropriate to the material and condition.

06

Drying, review & repairs

The area is dried and reviewed. Independent testing may be used when required, followed by reconstruction of removed finishes.

What to expect

A clear process in a stressful moment.

01

Containment in the home

Plastic barriers and filtered equipment may change how the affected room can be accessed during the work.

02

Source correction matters

Remediation cannot provide a lasting result if the underlying moisture problem continues.

03

Repair after cleaning

Drywall, insulation, trim, flooring, or other finishes removed during remediation can be rebuilt after the area is ready.

Good to know

Avoid disturbing the affected area

Do not sand, scrub, cut, or place fans directly on suspected growth. Disturbance can spread particles to other rooms. Keep children, pets, and anyone with health concerns away from the area and consult a medical professional for health advice.
